Charlie is a Black woman that has been recruited to run against another Black female incumbent. All four of the candidates in this race are Black women. We hear from a lot of people in her district that it’s time for her to retire. Many feel that she has not adequately represented the concerns and needs of the most impoverished and segregated part of the community, and in fact, has allowed injustices, such as a racist student assignment plan, to continue under her watch. However, she is the safest bet when it comes to protecting our district from an extremist infiltrator that has been endorsed by dangerous, SPLC-designated hate groups with ties to election deniers.
